This body of work is based on photographs of Jake’s physical transformation during the process of gender reassignment from female to male. I was approached by Jake to document his transition from female to male. While not always agreeing with or understanding Jake’s position, I grew to respect his decision to go after what he really wanted from life.
To me the work was not as much about a gender transition as it is about accepting difference his and ours.
